Golden Trowel Award
The lodge met last night to convey the highly prestigious Golden Trowel award upon one of its long-standing members. Forest joined Freemasonry 63 years ago and at the tender age of 97 years old, is still an active contributing member. He is particularly well known for his not so subtle technique of selling raffle tickets, raising substantial amounts of money for good causes. Around 40 people gathered for socialise and enjoy a meal before taking their seats in the Scottish Rite Theater and hearing various tributes and annecdotes from his 63 years in masonry.
Hill City’s Worshipful Master presented him with a certificate and trophy and is pictured here with Forest and our District Deputy Grand Master.
Come and join us on Tuesday evenings from 6pm at the Scottish Rite Theater in Austin.
If the suit fits ……
One of our newer Master Masons, recently bought a very sharp looking new custom suit to wear at meetings. To further embellish his smart suit the inside label proudly states that it was made for ”Hill City #456”.
March Stated Meeting
A large number of brethren gathered for our stated meeting last night. There was great fellowship amongst the members, visitors and guests before we dined on homemade meatloaf and accompaniments. Our very own R W Lee Kinser visited in his official capacity as DDGM and an interesting and entertaining stated meeting followed. Yet another petition for initiation was approved and two more prospective brethren put forward for investigation prior to initiation.
Come and join us one Tuesday eveningl
