Stated Meeting and goodbye for now
/in Uncategorized/by Nick GrossmanOur monthly stated meeting was well attended on Tuesday night where the brethren enjoyed their annual treat of Flemish Stew, cooked by our Belgian past secretary. It was delicious. The meeting also marked the departure, for now, of one of our members – Tanner Dennis – who is moving out of town for a period. We wish Tanner well is his new location.

Regular called meeting
/in Uncategorized/by Nick GrossmanMany brethren met this week to chat and enjoy companionship ahead of a round-table practice of the EA degree lecture. There were a healthy number of past masters (pictured below) as well as masons and prospective candidates.

The new masonic year’s stewards did a fine job, serving a delicious meal of spahetti bolognase with accompaniments which was enjoyed by everyone, with seconds and carry-out portions quickly devoured.

March stated meeting
/in Uncategorized/by Nick GrossmanWe held our monthly Stated Meeting this week which was well attended by around 30 brethren and guests. As usual the evening started with fellowship and lively discussion amongst the attendees. The stewards then served a meal of roast chicken with a mushroom marsala sauce, griddled beans and roast potatoes.

The brethren then convened for the meeting at which it was particularly pleasing to vote on and approve a further two petitions to join the lodge.

Golden Trowel Award
/in Uncategorized/by Nick GrossmanThe lodge met last night to convey the highly prestigious Golden Trowel award upon one of its long-standing members. Forest joined Freemasonry 63 years ago and at the tender age of 97 years old, is still an active contributing member. He is particularly well known for his not so subtle technique of selling raffle tickets, raising substantial amounts of money for good causes. Around 40 people gathered for socialise and enjoy a meal before taking their seats in the Scottish Rite Theater and hearing various tributes and annecdotes from his 63 years in masonry.
Hill City’s Worshipful Master presented him with a certificate and trophy and is pictured here with Forest and our District Deputy Grand Master.

Come and join us on Tuesday evenings from 6pm at the Scottish Rite Theater in Austin.

Yet another petition for initiation was approved and two more prospective brethren put forward for investigation prior to initiation.
